Crash closes Route 106 in Concord Monday morning

CONCORD — Three people were transported to Concord Hospital Monday morning after an oil tanker and a car collided on Route 106, near the Loudon town line.

Concord Police Lt. Timothy O’Malley said the female driver of the car and a female child, about 8 years old, were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. O’Malley said the driver of the oil truck was also transported, but primarily as a precautionary measure.

He said it was not immediately clear which vehicle was headed in which direction and which vehicle caused the crash. The road was closed for a time after the crash at approximately 7 a.m., with traffic detoured on Joshua Bartlett Road, which is in Loudon at its northern end.

O’Malley said there was no breach of the heating oil tank, but there was some gasoline spilled at the scene, which was addressed by the Concord Fire Department.

He did not have identifications early Monday afternoon, but he expected to release the names and ages later in the day.
