Inaccurate GPS coordinates delay rescue of Mass. hikers on Mt. Monadnock

JAFFREY - New Hampshire Fish and Game Conservation Officers located three lost hikers from Massachusetts on Mt. Monadnock Sunday evening.
Conservation officers were called to Mt. Monadnock at 6 p.m. Sunday night on a report that three Massachusetts men became lost while descending the mountain.
Max Stoff, 20, Benjamin Adams-Keane, 20, and James Rose, 19, all of Arlington, Mass., had reached the summit and were descending on the Marlboro Trail when they lost the trail and became disoriented on the southwest side of the mountain.
The men called 911 to report their situation, and GPS coordinates obtained from their cell phone call proved inaccurate and complicated the search efforts. Conservation officers located the men shortly after 8 pm, not far from the Marlboro Trail in the vicinity of Shaker Farm Road in Jaffrey. They were uninjured.
