Braintree decides not to fight Portsmouth cop over will that had originally set aside $240K for scholarships

Geraldine Webber changed her will in May 2012 after befriending Portsmouth police Sgt. Aaron Goodwin, leaving most of her $1.8 million estate to the officer, according to seacoastonline.com. Bequests to beneficiaries named in the earlier will were significantly reduced. Attorneys representing Webber’s beneficiaries have filed documents in probate court accusing Sgt. Goodwin of trying to influence Webber at a time when her judgment was impaired by dementia, the website reported.
