Maryland man convicted of Medicaid fraud in NH


CONCORD — A Maryland man accused of bilking more than $150,000 in bogus Medicaid payments has been convicted of theft by deception.

Attorney General Joseph A. Foster announced Monday that Robert Seung-Bok Lee of Baltimore was convicted and sentenced to 2-to-4 years in prison or home confinement.

Foster said Lee submitted time cards to Granite State Independent Living over eight years, claiming that he was receiving personal care from a GSIL employee. GSIL paid over $150,000 in wages into a bank account opened in the worker’s name but controlled by Lee.

Merrimack County Superior Court also ordered Lee to pay $150,000 in restitution.

The case was investigated and prosecuted by the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit.
