Citizens Bank still accepting donations of school supplies

August 04. 2013 6:34PM

MANCHESTER — Citizens Bank branches are accepting back-to-school donations until later this week.

The annual Gear for Grades program is co-sponsored by the New Hampshire Union Leader, Child and Family Services of New Hampshire and 95.7 WZID.

“We thank everyone who has already donated school supplies to this year’s program and want to remind the public that there is still time to make a donation,” said Joe Cirelli, president of Citizens Bank New Hampshire.

The drive began July 22 and runs through Thursday. People can donate pens, pencils, folders and other school supplies at any Citizens Bank branch.

Citizens said the supplies will help more than 3,000 students go back to class with the supplies they need and that the program since 2003 has helped more than 215,000 children across the bank’s service area in New England and the Mid-Atlantic, as well as the Midwest, where it operates as Charter One.
