Citing pressure from greens, Claremont incinerator bows out of turning trash into energy




Wheelabrator says the decision was a financial one and not influenced by critics who have long tried to have the plant shut down. The plant, which has about two dozen employees, pays the city about $275,000 a year in taxes and another $240,000 for water.
