Fisher Cats’ rally falls short in loss to BaySox
Kyle Hudson drove in three runs and Trayvon Robinson added a solo homer to lead the Bowie Baysox to a 9-7 Eastern League win against the slumping New Hampshire Fisher Cats Tuesday at Prince George’s Stadium.
New Hampshire’s losing streak is now at seven, dropping the team’s record to 52-55.The Fisher Cats led early scoring a first inning run when A.J. Jimenez plated Kenny Wilson with a sacrifice fly.
Wilson padded the lead to 3-0 in the second frame.
Jack Murphy singled with two outs and jogged home when Wilson launched his first Double-A homer of the season to left field.
Down by six runs in the ninth inning, New Hampshire cut the deficit to 9-5 when Murphy singled home Gabe Jacobo and Andy Burns walked with the bases loaded.
Things got interesting when the Fisher Cats closed the gap to 9-7 when Jimenez reached on a fielding error by second baseman Josh Horton. His fielding error allowed Murphy to score and his throwing error allowed Wilson to cross the plate.
But Bowie reliever Matt Bischoff retired Brad Glenn on a strikeout, Adam Loewen on a pop out and Nashua native Kevin Nolan on a ground out to end the game.
