NU raises 2013 estimates after posting higher earnings

For the three months ending June 30, the utility reported earnings of $171 million, or 54 cents per share, up from $44.3 million, or 15 cents per share, in the same quarter last year — the first reporting period that included financial results from the company's merger with Massachusetts-based NSTAR.
