Family, friends, neighbors mourn Deerfield girl’s death

DEERFIELD - Family, friends, neighbors and classmates mourned the sudden death of a 14-year-old Deerfield girl who collapsed while on a morning run Saturday.Rose Robert was found after a search that began Saturday morning when she did not return as expected.A medical examiner concluded that the death was of natural causes, police said.

.Rose graduated from Deerfield Community School, where she was an honor roll student, several weeks ago. The school held a memorial service Sunday night and provided grief counseling materials to families of students at the school. People who knew the girl said she participated in track while at Deerfield Community School, drawn by the friendships she made with her teammates as a member of the team...But her real passion, they said, was for music and drama.Robert's body was found near her home. Police officers and the town's volunteer police department turned out to search, but police said someone who knew the route she would usually take while out running traced her probable steps and found the girl. The school's PTO posted condolences to the girl's family on its website, and included a quote she wrote for the school yearbook: “They can turn off the sun, but we all still shine,” she wrote. “We all met for a reason. Remember that.”..
