Six Gun City promises 'big changes', plans to reopen next month

One of New Hampshire's original theme parks is planning what owners say are "big changes" in the near future, but aren't getting specific about what's to come at Six Gun City in Jefferson.

Six Gun management has said it will reopen in August after being closed for the first half of the summer season.

Tom Brady, a member of the family which operates the Old West-style theme park, said Friday it was too soon to release the details of the park's new operation.

The Brady family acquired the property in the early 1940s and originally operated a cow farm before building a dairy bar which became popular in the area.

Six Gun City opened in 1957, targeted at family tourism. Rides and a water park were added later to complement the western-style themes and attractions.Several years ago, Six Gun expanded its season with the addition of a haunted western ghost town attraction on weekends leading up to Halloween.Brady said that while the park is still finalizing the details of its new operation, he isn't ready to reveal what it has in store, other than to say it will be "big."
