Colt, Palomino teams advance to zone tourneys

The Manchester 16-year-old Colt All-Stars came from behind in the seventh inning to defeat the Adirondack Hawks, 11-10, to win the 2013 Colt League regional tournament at Derryfield Park in Manchester Sunday.

Travis Dionne and Jason Bourgeois combined on the mound to pick up the victory.

Sean Benoit, Matt Butkus, Cody McBride, David Nelson, Brian Shea and Brett Gregoire led the way offensively for the winners. Jason Bourgeois played well throughout the weekend tournament. Nelson was selected as the tournament’s most valuable player.

The team is in Greensboro, N.C., to compete in the 2013 Colt League 16-Year-Old Zone Tournament this weekend.

The Manchester Palomino All Stars bested the Bandits of Bedford, 5-1, to capture the 2013 Palomino Regional Tournament at Gill Stadium. Nik Beeson was outstanding on the mound, going the distance for the win.

Matt D’Ambrosio, Terrell Boudreau, Robbie Ford, Scott Robidoux, Vinny Langella, Alex Currier, and Cam Fosman led the way offensively for the winners.

Ford, Boudreau and D’Ambrosio were standouts on defense. Currier was selected as the tournament’s most valuable player.

The team is in Cranberry, Pa., to play in the 2013 Palomino Zone Tournament this weekend.
