Drowning death of NH man still under investigation

ELLSWORTH, Maine — A spokesman for the Maine Game Wardens said it may be a week before the investigation into the death of a Manchester, N.H., man is completed.

Cpl. John MacDonald said the body of Frank Mroz, 66, was recovered from Green Lake early Friday, about 30 feet from shore.

He said Ellsworth police received a call about 11:40 p.m. Thursday from a camp on Green Lake, saying Mroz had not returned to the camp after setting off to fix a mooring in front of the camp.

Mroz was last seen by his wife, diving in front of the camp, but MacDonald did not know at what time. He said Mroz was wearing diving equipment and was described as an experienced diver.MacDonald said the investigation will include examining the equipment to determine if there was a malfunction.
He did not have any information on whether Mroz had any health issues.
