Maine woman charged with reckless driving after nearly hitting kids, police say
ROCHESTER — An Acton, Maine, woman who police say nearly hit numerous children on Moors Court on Thursday was charged with reckless driving and several other traffic offenses.
Christine Belanger, 23, made a turn onto Moors Court "at a high rate of speed" at a time when the road "was filled with many pedestrians including dozens of children," police said in a release.
"(Belanger) pulled down the end of Moors court after driving so fast that parents had to pull their children out of the roadway to prevent them from being struck by the vehicle," the release said. She was found parked in a driveway at the end of the road and arrested, the release said.
