WOLFEBORO —The Winnipesaukee Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution presented the Wolfeboro Historical Society with a Historic Preservation Award from the National Society of DAR during the historical society's recent Colonial Day, held at the Clark House.Nancy Ramos, the DAR chapter's regent, welcomed guests and gave a brief history of the Clark House museum before presenting the award to society President Jim Rogers and his officers. The award is presented to groups or individuals that have met the DAR's criteria in historic preservation.

Merle Dustin, regent of the Mercy Hathaway White Chapter of DAR, presented former regent Angela Lavoy with a certificate of appreciation during the chapter's meeting this month for her work to preserve chapter events on DVDs. The topics covered by Lavoy were the 25th anniversary of wedding gowns; 9/11, for which she received DAR national recognition; DAR pins; the chapter's centennial; and the meaning of the 13 folds of the American flag. Lavoy gave a copy of each DVD to the chapter, so they can be part of the chapter's ongoing history and saved for future generations.
