Southern New Hampshire Brewers Festival on tap this weekend in Hooksett

HOOKSETT — Kicking off its third year, the Southern New Hampshire Brewers Festival hosted by White Birch Brewing, Hooksett, is gathering an eclectic group of brewers together for beer lovers to enjoy. An admission ticket to the annual July event provides an all-inclusive evening of extensive beer tasting, delicious food, chatting with the brewers and plenty of water.

The event is held under a big top July 26-27 at White Birch Brewing, 1339 Hooksett Road, rain or shine.

This year, organizers added a second day to the popular one-day festival. A Friday night session was added and admission totals were lowered to 700 per session versus the sell-out and slightly crowded 750 people who attended the last two years in a row. Bill Herlicka, founder of White Birch Brewing and the brewers' festival, said more people will be able to attend and there will still be plenty of room for everyone to enjoy.

Twenty-two brewers from around the country are expected, including Woodstock Brewery, Woodstock; Smuttynose Brewing Company, Portsmouth; Canterbury AleWorks, Canterbury; Flying Goose Brew Pub, New London; and Boulder Beer.

Guests will sample everything from White Birch Brewing's Belgian-inspired beers to a New Hampshire brewpub classic like Martha's Exchange.

Ticket prices are $60 for VIP admission, $45 for general admission, and $35 for designated drivers, who can enter with the rest of their group and get a commemorative glass to enjoy non-alcoholic drinks.

To purchase tickets, visit www.southernnhbrewersfestival.com or call White Birch Brewing at 206-5260.
