Manchester off-road biker charged with DWI
MANCHESTER — A pedestrian was hurt and a local man arrested for alleged drunken driving after a hit-and-run accident early Sunday morning.
Sean Murphy, 24, was hit by an off-road dirt bike as he stood on Hancock Street near Hamilton Street, police said. He suffered serious, but non life-threatening injury.
The driver of the bike was identified as Nicholas Johns, 23, of Hamilton Street. Johns was arrested at Elliot Hospital and charged with operating under the influence of liquor and felony conduct after an accident.
Investigators said speed and alcohol appeared to be factors in the accident, and have asked that anyone who may have information concerning the accident to contact Manchester police at 792-5446,
