Wolfeboro doctor gives up license

CONCORD — A Wolfeboro doctor, Hasan A. Duymazlar, Friday voluntarily surrendered his medical license, a day after the New Hampshire Board of Medicine had issued an emergency license suspension, for Duymazlar’s allegedly writing a fraudulent prescription for a controlled drug July 6.

In announcing the suspension and license surrender, the board noted Duymazlar was arrested Wednesday and charged with obtaining a controlled drug by fraud. He’s accused of writing a fraudulent prescription for 120 pills of 30 mg Oxycodone and having it filled at a Conway pharmacy.

In November 2009, the board censured Duymazlar for allegedly prescribing controlled and non-controlled substances for his father, without maintaining any medical record, failing to appropriately document prescriptions for use in his practice and writing prescriptions in his nurse’s name.

That earned him a reprimand, a $3,000 fine and a requirement for 36 hours of continuing medical education.
