Andrews to play in Lions Soccer Cup on Saturday

Morgan Andrews of Milford, who was named the 2013 Female Gatorade National Athlete of the Year on Wednesday, will be playing for New Hampshire in the 2013 Lions Soccer Cup featuring the top seniors from the Granite State and Vermont.

The girls' game will start Saturday at 4 p.m. at Spartan Sodexho Field on the campus of Franklin Pierce University in Rindge. The boys' game will follow approximately 30 minutes at the conclusion of the girls' game.

On Wednesday in Los Angeles, Andrews received her second consecutive Gatorade National Girls' Soccer Player of the Year Award. It makes her just the ninth high school athlete to win two Gatorade national awards, a first for girls' soccer.

Andrews scored 31 goals and had 18 assists last season for the Spartans. She will be attending the University of Notre Dame this fall.
