75 car batteries allegedly stolen in Belmont

BELMONT — Two local men who allegedly stole 75 car batteries from Metrocast Cablevision early Thursday were arrested on felony charges of receiving stolen property.

Police said a woman reported a suspicious truck parked outside her apartment on Randlett Street, which is behind the Metrocast Cablevision lot at the end of Apple Road, about 12:10 a.m. Thursday.

Police said Dean LaPlante, 20, and Stephen Cote, 29, were found leaving the area and that police found the car batteries after stopping them.
