Manchester schools cancel summer programs for Wednesday

MANCHESTER - The Manchester School District has called off all summer programs scheduled for Wednesday as temperatures are expected to reach the 90s for the third straight day.

The high Tuesday at Manchester-Boston Regional Airport was 94 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

Meteorologist Mike Kistner of the NWS office in Gray, Maine, said it wasn't record-breaking heat, but temperatures throughout the Granite State have been running 10-to-12 degrees above normal.

While the North Country could see a little relief from rain on Wednesday, Kistner said temperatures southern New Hampshire are likely to keep reaching the low-to-mid 90s.
