Manchester man charged in 2012 murder of Daniel Langlois

MANCHESTER — A city man was arrested Sunday and charged in connection with a murder in Manchester late last year.

New Hampshire Attorney General Joseph A. Foster and Manchester Police Chief David J. Mara announced late Sunday that an arrest had been made in connection with the homicide of Daniel Langlois, 25, in Manchester on Dec. 27, 2012.

Jesus "Scoobie" Fernandez, 27, of Manchester was arrested Sunday night at 9 p.m. on Route 93, and charged with reckless second-degree murder for allegedly killing Langlois by shooting him with a handgun.

Fernandez is expected to be arraigned on the murder charge Monday at the 9th Circuit Court - District Division - Manchester District Court.

Manchester Police Sgt. Ryan Grant directed all questions regarding the arrest and investigation to Senior Assistant Attorney General Jeffery Strelzin. Strelzin did not immediately return a request for comment late Sunday night.

Langlois died Dec. 27 at Elliot Hospital after being shot once in the head around 3 a.m. near the corner of Nashua and Jane streets, where he had collided with a parked car.

Neighbors who heard the crash told police at the time they saw at least two people get in a third vehicle that fled the scene before officers arrived. Some also reported they believed they heard gunshots.

Langlois was behind the wheel of a Toyota SUV, driving a friend home, when the vehicle collided with a small sedan that was parked on the street, leaving both vehicles in the middle of Jane Street.

According to friends, Langlois worked as a part-time bouncer at Club Realm, located at 43 Amherst St. Relatives said Langlois, had a 3-year-old daughter, Mariah and another child on the way at the time of his death with girlfriend Katrina Warren.

Langlois attended Coe Brown Academy in Northwood, where he graduated with honors in 2005. He was employed by Master Hardware Installers at the time of his death.
