MANCHESTER — Almost seven months after Daniel Langlois, 25, was fatally shot, a man is charged with second-degree murder in his death.

Jesus "Scoobie" Fernandez, 27, is accused of recklessly causing the death of Langlois. Fernandez was arraigned Monday in Circuit Court-Manchester District Division; a probable cause hearing was set for July 29.

Fernandez, who lists residences in both New York City and Manchester, is being held without bail.

Langlois worked as a door installer and part-time as a club bouncer. He was found shot in the back of the head in the driver's seat of a sport-utility vehicle after it struck a parked car near the corner of Nashua and Jane streets about 3 a.m. Dec. 27.

The brief hearing was attended by many of Langlois' relatives and friends. Senior Assistant Attorney General Jeffery Strelzin, chief of the homicide unit, said Fernandez was arrested Sunday night. He would not say where, other than it was not in Manchester.

Strelzin said the affidavits supporting the arrest warrant remain sealed, but said he would be seeking an indictment from the Hillsborough County North Grand Jury.

Fernandez was represented at the hearing by attorney Carl Olson.

In March, Fernandez was indicted on three felony drug charges for allegedly selling oxycodone and cocaine to Manchester police confidential informants in June and July 2011.

At that time, his address was listed on Jane Street.
