Sobriety checkpoints in Seabrook

SEABROOK- Law enforcement authorities will conduct sobriety checkpoints in Seabrook during the week of July 15, according to a news release issued by New Hampshire State Police.

According to State Police Troop A Commander, Lt. Christopher Vetter, the sobriety checkpoint is one of the most effective methods of detecting and apprehending the impaired driver and is being employed because of increasing incidents of drinking and driving in the state.

"A review of records has shown that the use of alcohol by individuals who operate motor vehicles has resulted in an alarming number of deaths and personal injury accidents," Vetter wrote.
