Sandler surprised by his former Central High gym teacher on Katie Couric show

Manchester celebrity Adam Sandler is a guest on Katie Couric's syndicated daytime talk show Friday along with other members of the cast of "Grown Ups 2" on the day of the movie's release.

Sandler got a surprise visit from Don Tibbetts, who was Sandler's physical education teacher when Sandler attended Manchester Central High School.

"That's a foul!," Tibbetts blew a whistle, then yelled from his seat in the audience on the Katie show.

Tibbetts joined the cast on stage where he and his former student gave each other a handshake and a hug.

"Glad to see you, my boy," Sandler told the now retired teacher.

"Grown Ups 2" was released Friday. The film is partly filmed in a recreated version of the Red Arrow Diner, a downtown Manchester landmark that has since expanded to other locations.
