Bedford visits North in L.L. tourney

The Bedford Little League All-Stars are still alive in the District I tournament.

The Bedford 11-12-year-olds eliminated Goffstown 9-6 in a rain-delayed losers’ bracket game in Goffstown Wednesday. Bedford thus advanced to Friday night’s losers’ bracket final at Manchester North. Game time is 6 p.m. The survivor of that game plays Saturday against unbeaten Salem in the district finals.

Behind 4-2 in the 4th inning, Bedford exploded for seven runs to take the lead for good.

Goffstown’s Conor Hujsak slugged two home runs and a single for four runs batted in. Bedford starting pitcher Matt Zifchak notched seven strikeouts in three innings of work.
