Police in Nashua and Hudson investigate armed robberies

NASHUA -- Police in Hudson and Nashua are investigating two armed robberies at area stores that could be connected.
According to police, about 9 p.m. Sunday a man entered the 7-Eleven store at 7 Spitbrook Road in Nashua armed with a handgun. The man then allegedly demanded cash from a store clerk before fleeing.
About 10:40 p.m., a man with a similar description entered Haffner's gas station at 215 Lowell Road in Hudson, allegedly brandishing a small, black, semi-automatic handgun.
The white man, believed to be in his mid-30s to early 40s, was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with a white insignia, a black baseball cap, jeans and dark gloves.
He was caught on a surveillance camera walking into the store, approaching the counter and holding a gun close to his body while demanding cash from a store clerk.
The clerk placed the cash register drawer onto the counter, and the man took the money and left.
Authorities believe he fled on foot heading toward the Sagamore Bridge. Police conducted a canine search of the area but did not find the man, according to a release.
Nashua police Lt. Michael Moushegian said in a statement the same man likely robbed both stores. The robber is about 5'5" or 5'6" and weighs about 160 pounds.
Authorities urge anyone with information about the crimes to call Nashua police at 594-3500, or Hudson police at 886-6011.
No one was injured in either of the robberies, and it is not yet clear how much cash the man was able to obtain..
