MANCHESTER - The Binghamton Mets hit five home runs en route to a 14-3 win over the New Hampshire Fisher Cats on Saturday night at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium.

Toronto Blue Jays infielder Brett Lawrie added two singles in his first rehab game for the Fisher Cats, who have lost two of three in the five-game holiday weekend series to the Mets.

Binghamton jumped out early against Ryan Tepera in the first inning, capitalizing on a lead-off error. The miscue was followed by back-to-back home runs to stake the Mets to a 3-0 lead.

The rough start was quickly followed by a long stretch of success for Tepera, making his first start since June 25. He retired the next 12 batters, recording seven strikeouts along the way. But just as quickly as Tepera settled down, things unraveled again as the Mets put the first two men aboard in the fifth followed by a third home run to stretch the lead to 6-0.

Robinson's big blow came in the sixth, and made the game interesting with one swing. His 10th homer landed on the access road behind the right field wall to cut Binghamton's lead in half, 6-3.

The Fisher Cats would get no closer, however, as Binghamton smacked its fourth homer in the seventh for an 8-3 edge. An inning later, a two-run shot sparked a six-run frame to bust the game open at 14-3.

Tepera (6-6) took the loss, albeit with an interesting pitching line. He allowed six runs (five earned) over five innings. He gave up seven hits and one walk, but recorded career highs with nine strikeouts and three home runs.

Former Blue Jays prospect Noah Syndergaard (2-0) earned the win in his first Double-A road game. He went seven innings, giving up three unearned runs. He struck out seven and walked one to protect a big early lead.

Lawrie played his played his fifth minor league rehab game in his first visit to Manchester. He went 2-4 with singles in his first two at-bats before reaching and scoring on an error in the sixth.

The teams meet up again on Sunday in the fourth game of the five-game series at 5:05 p.m.
