Road salt certification program seen as way to keep I-93 project on track and eight-lanes wide

If the overall chloride levels arenít brought under control, the state could be forced to take other action, such as scaling back the I-93 project to six lanes instead of eight to reduce the road surface that would require salting during winter storms.
