Meho Kameric gets scholarship


MANCHESTER — The Granite State detachment of the Marine Corps League recently participated in the recognition of an outstanding ROTC student at West High School for his accomplishments.

During the awards ceremony, a $1,000 scholarship was presented to Meho Kameric, who graduated with a 3.96 GPA and was fifth in his class standings.

The detachment presented the award to Meho not only for his academic achievement but for demonstrating leadership and patriotism as a member of West High Schools ROTC program.

Meho will be pursuing a degree in chemical engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute this fall.

Outreach Team at Loudon race

LOUDON — Veterans attending the NASCAR eace can receive help from VA Medical Center Outreach Team from Thursday, July 11 to Sunday, July 14.

Hours of operation will be July 11, noon to 5 p.m.; July 12, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; July 13, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and July 14, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Staff will answer questions about VA eligibility and enroll people for health care at the VA. Bring your DD214 and a picture ID.

Post 27 events

LONDONDERRY — The American Legion Post 27, 6 Sargent Road, will hold its monthly meeting at 7:30 p.m. on July 8.

On July 22, the post will be running bingo for patients at the VA Hospital in Manchester from 7-8:30 p.m. Donations are appreciated or feel free to stop by and help out.

Pizza and diet soda will be served and there is $150 in prize money.

On July 26, karaoke with DJ Sharon is from 7:30-11 p.m.

Concord Hospital is providing inpatient care



The Department of Veteran Affairs announces that Concord Hospital will provide inpatient services in New Hampshire to veterans enrolled at the Manchester VA Medical Center.

Inpatient services will be provided through an existing contract with Concord Hospital.

Concord is a regional medical center that offers traditional acute care services in 42 medical specialties.

As a result, of the contract expansion, fewer veterans will have to travel outside the state for acute inpatient care.
