West Stewartstown woman injured in ATV accident
WEST STEWARTSTOWN — A 26-year-old West Stewartstown woman was injured in an all-terrain vehicle accident Wednesday evening on Bryant Road, according to New Hampshire Fish and Game conservation officer Chris Egan of the Region One office in Lancaster.
Jessica Green sustained non-life-threatening injuries to her lower leg and foot at about 6:15 p.m. when, she told investigators, the ATV rolled over her leg.
Green inadvertently backed into a ditch while attempting to turn the machine around. After it rolled over her leg, it came to rest on its side in the small ditch alongside the road, Egan said in a news release issued late Wednesday.
Volunteer members of Beecher Falls Fire and Rescue along with 45th Parallel Ambulance service provided first aid to the rider at the scene.
Green, who was not wearing a helmet when the accident occurred, was transported to Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital in Colebrook, where she was treated and released.
“The incident occurred on a private gravel road in a mobile home park, where ATV use is permitted. The ATV Ms. Green was operating was properly registered, and neither speed nor alcohol appear to have been factors. No charges will be filed as a result of this incident,” Egan wrote.
The ATV was not damaged, he said.
