Wakefield police seek purse thief

WAKEFIELD — Police are looking for a tattooed man who allegedly stole a purse from a car at an Irving gas station then used the victim's credit card at another gas station.

Surveillance images show a bearded man with full sleeve tattoos on both arms wearing a dark blue T-shirt, ripped jeans and ball cap buying what looks like beer from the cashier.

Wakefield Police Department Lt. Mark O'Brien said the vehicle is possibly a dark Jeep Liberty.

Anyone who has information about the man is asked to call the Wakefield Police Department at 522-3232 or the Carroll County Sheriff's Office Dispatch Center at 539-2284.

As of Monday, police officials said the man in the surveillance photos has been identified but not yet arrested and charged.
