A West Lebanon man wanted by Massachusetts authorities was caught during a police enforcement stop in Canaan, authorities said Saturday.
Edward J. Hutchings, 29, of South Main Street, was stopped for driving a vehicle with an expired inspection sticker on Route 4 near Lafortune Road around 5:45 p.m. Thursday, police said.
Hutchings was arrested for disobeying a police officer. Police also determined he had a suspended driver's license and was a wanted fugitive from Massachusetts.
Hutchings was wanted for a felony probation violation warrant related to aggravated assault of a pregnant woman.
He was arraigned Friday in Lebanon and held at the Grafton County House of Corrections without bail pending extradition to Massachusetts.
