Center Harbor food pantry in need of donations

CENTER HARBOR — Pastor Bob Farah of the Center Harbor Christian Church has put out a call for help.

He says the shelves are almost empty at the Center Harbor Food Pantry, which serves more than 371 families in Belknap, Carroll and Grafton counties.

The pantry needs donations and assistance so that it can be restocked and continue to assist those who depend on it for help, according to a news release.

Food is gathered from Hannaford’s, Boy Scouts, three schools, Moulton’s Farm, individuals and the government.

Many of the people who depend on the pantry are in desperate need. They struggle with bills, but are ineligible for food stamps, so food pantries are their redemption in this regard, according to the release.

The pantry distributes 20,000 pounds of food monthly, but could easily use 40,000 pounds due to the extreme demand.

Anyone wishing to donate can call 253-8008 or drop off food and/or donations to the pantry, located at 80 Bean Road, Center Harbor.
