Cheryl Wheeler to open Great Waters Music Festival in Wolfeboro June 28

WOLFEBORO— Cheryl Wheeler, a contemporary folk singer and songwriter whose tunes have been covered by Dan Seals, Suzy Bogguss, Kathy Mattea, Garth Brooks, Peter, Paul, and Mary, Bette Midler and Kenny Loggins, among others, will play the Great Waters Music Festival's Second Stage Series opener at 7:30 p.m. Friday, June 28, at The Inn on Main.Long considered both a lyricist and a humorist, Wheeler has infused her music with both a sentimentality and an irascibility, highlighting the good and bad of life.

Although most of her road trips are solo productions, she has toured with Kenny White and on the Christine Lavin-inspired show &#';On a Winter's Night.&#';She also has appeared occasionally as part of the Four Bitchin' Babes.

Her discography includes &#';No Previous Record,&#'; &#';Defying Gravity,&#'; &#';Half a Book,&#'; &#';Circle and Arrows,&#'; &#';Sylvia Hotel,&#'; &#';Different Stripes&#'; and &#';Pointing at the Sun.&#';Tickets for Friday's show are $20.
