Future’s bright for valedictorian, salutatorian and 8 other top GHS students
The class, which adopted the motto, “There’s no luck to it,” graduated June 19. A luncheon was held Monday, June 17, for the 10 students with the highest academic achievements. It was a time to celebrate their accomplishments and reflect on the hard work involved with reaching their goals.
“I feel incredibly fortunate to be graduating from Goffstown High School,” said salutatorian Danielle “Elle” Dever. “I would not trade my experience here for anything.”
The entire community nurtured and shaped the graduates into the leaders they are today, Dever said. She credited families, teachers and administrators with creating a strong foundation for the students to build on.
Dever knows a bit about leadership. During her academic career she balanced leadership roles in many school organizations while carrying a demanding academic workload. She is a member of the National Honor Society, the Future Business Leaders of America, Youth Forum, Peer Outreach, Student Ambassadors and the volleyball team. Dever also found time to raise $5,000 for the Breast Cancer Walk, joined the Medical Explorers Program and attended Dartmouth’s medical camp last summer. She plans to become a doctor and is entering Providence College this fall.
Valedictorian Ellen Seidel’s focus and drive helped her place second at the state level in Level Ten gymnastics and become a National Merit scholar.
Seidel is ready to take on new experiences as she moves forward to Harvey Mudd College this fall.
“I would like to thank the Goffstown High School faculty and administration for creating a high school full of academic opportunity,” Seidel said. “I feel well-prepared for college and am looking forward to new challenges.”
