Cross-country 5k race set at Derryfield Park

MANCHESTER — Derryfield Park’s cross-country course, best known for hosting high school championship meets, on Thursday opens to runners (and walker) of all ages for the Lite Up The Nite for Mental Health 5K. Pre-registration for the 3.1-mile race is closed, but race-day sign-ups for the 6:30 p.m. event will be welcome from 4:30-6.

Sponsored by the Mental Health Center of Greater Manchester, Lite Up The Nite promotes the benefits of exercise to mental wellness. Participants are encouraged to wear bright, even neon, apparel in support of mental health. All proceeds will help to provide an improved quality of life for families who are challenged by mental illness.
