Weather Service warns of severe thunderstorms in southern NH

The National Weather Service is warning that a few strong to severe thunderstorms are possible this afternoon and into this evening in southern New Hampshire.

According to the NWS, the primary threat will be strong to damaging wind gusts and locally heavy rainfall, with large hail a secondary threat.

Earlier this afternoon radar showed a line of strong thunderstorms through eastern New York and southern Vermont with large and potentially damaging hail and wind gusts in excess of 60 mph possible as they move through New Hampshire.

A severe thunderstorm watch remains in effect through 9 p.m., according to the weather service.
