MOULTONBOROUGH — A 48-year-old New Jersey woman suffered severe injuries to her arms and legs when her motorcycle collided with a car late Saturday night.

Police said Debra Ferrari of Vineland, N.J., was driving south on Governor Wentworth Highway, also known as Route 109, when her motorcycle crossed the double-yellow line just before 10 p.m. near the Winnipesaukee Sportsmen Club.

Ferrari’s motorcycle struck a car being driven by David Bergeron, 32, of Somerville, Mass. Bergeron and his passenger were not injured in the crash, police said.

Fire Chief David Bengtson said rescue crews found that Ferrari had “multiple traumatic injuries to her upper and lower extremities.”

Rescue crews called for a DHART helicopter to fly Ferrari to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon. The helicopter landed at Moultonborough Airport at 10:43 p.m., and arrived at Dartmouth-Hitchcock at 11:02 p.m., Bengston said.

Dartmouth-Hitchcock officials would not release information on Ferrari’s condition on Monday.

Police said speed and alcohol were not factors in the crash.

The crash is still under investigation by Moultonborough police.
