Police say motorcyclist was traveling between 130-152 mph

BARBOSA

HOOKSETT — A motorcyclist driving as fast as 152 mph on Interstate 93 on Saturday was arrested by state police on a felony count of reckless conduct.

Police said a trooper saw Edson Jose Barbosa, 44, of Stoneham, Mass., speeding on I-93 while heading south in the town of New Hampton. He was driving between 130 and 152 mph in the 65 mph zone and was weaving around other cars, police said.

The trooper did not try to stop him, given Barbosa's speed, police said, and instead had a trooper at the Hooksett toll plaza stop Barbosa while he was paying a toll fee.

He is scheduled to appear July 16 in Laconia District Court.
