Mass. man sentenced for dealing cocaine, marijuana

BRENTWOOD — A Revere, Mass., man was sentenced to two to seven years in state prison on charges that he sold cocaine and marijuana to an undercover state trooper during an investigation in Salem.

Hector Concepcion, 29, pleaded guilty on Wednesday to bail jumping, sale of a narcotic drug, sale of a controlled drug and possession of a narcotic drug with intent to distribute.

State police learned of Concepcion’s drug business through an informant.

Concepcion sold $2,000 worth of cocaine during his first transaction with the undercover trooper on May 19, 2011, according to prosecutors. The deal happened in a parking lot outside a Macy’s department store, prosecutors said.
On June 2, 2011, he sold $900 in marijuana to the trooper, according to Assistant County Attorney Lisa Cirulli.

He followed up with a $4,000 sale — roughly four ounces — of cocaine when he was arrested by state police on June 24, prosecutors said.
Concepcion’s case took a little longer to prosecute once he failed to show for a court hearing last March 7.

Prosecutors indicted him on a felony bail jumping charge a month later.

He received a suspended two- to four-year prison sentence on the bail-jumping conviction, and another suspended five- to 10-year sentence on a separate drug conviction. Concepcion was ordered to pay $2,000 in fines to the Department of Corrections as part of his sentence.
Defense lawyer Mark Sisti did not contest any of the facts presented during the hearing. He said that Concepcion is also wanted in Massachusetts on drug charges.

Once Concepcion is paroled, he may be detained by the Commonwealth, according to Sisti.
Cirulli said Concepcion had no criminal record before his arrest in New Hampshire.
