Sigmund Romberg's 1920s operetta speaks to a still-contemporary climate of socio-political scandals, this one involving a prince who falls for a commoner and has to weigh matters of the heart against stately duty.
The New London Barn Playhouse's production of “The Student Prince,” directed by Lillian King, runs through Sunday, June 23, at the stage at 84 Main St.

Venue newcomer Eugenio Vargas will portray Prince Karl Franz of Karlsberg, who is furthering his education at a university when he learns a bit about love and responsibility.
