After rain, Aeros pour it on against Fisher Cats

Jesus Aguilar and Carlos Moncrief homered for the Akron Aeros in their 7-0 win over the New Hampshire Fisher Cats on Tuesday night at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium.

The start of the game was delayed 2 hours, 48 minutes minutes by rain, and ended just before midnight.

Aguilar hit a solo homer in the fourth and Moncrief a two-run shot in the fifth to stake Akron to a 3-0 lead.

Adam Abraham added a two-run double, Tyler Holt had an RBI double, and Ronny Rodriguez scored three runs for the Aeros in support of starter and winner Matt Packer (4-5), who allowed no runs and five hits in 6 2/3 innings. He walked three and struck out three.

Marcus Walden (4-7) took the loss for New Hampshire. He went six innings, allowing five runs (all earned) and nine hits. He walked two and struck out one.

Brad Glenn had two hits for the Fisher Cats, who amassed only five in the game.
