Second man arrested in beating death of inmate at state prison
CONCORD – A second New Hampshire State Prison inmate is under arrest, charged with second-degree murder in the beating death of another prisoner in 2010.
William Edic, 31, is charged with reckless second-degree murder in the death of Anthony Renzzulla, 44, an inmate who was attacked at the New Hampshire State Prison for Men on July 26, 2010.
Renzzulla was beaten so badly that his brain was shredded, his mother told the New Hampshire Union Leader. He died from the injuries more than a year later on Nov. 26, 2011.
Edic is also charged with falsifying physical evidence and hindering prosecution.
Last week, a former state prison inmate was arrested in Florida in connection with Renzzulla's death. Thomas Milton, 30, also is charged with second-degree murder.
Both men were previously charged with assaulting Renzzulla.
Milton is expected to be extradited to New Hampshire.
What's next: Edic is to be arraigned Thursday at 11 a.m. in 6th Circuit Court, Concord District Division.
