Colebrook driver injured, charged after ATV accident
An 18-year-old local man suffered a serious arm injury when he crashed his all-terrain vehicle Saturday on a gravel road in Colebrook that was recently opened to ATV use, authorities said.
According to Fish and Game officials, Tylor Rancloes was swerving around a large puddle on South Hill Road when his ATV skidded, left the roadway, went over an embankment and struck several large trees. Rancloes was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, which happened around 1:45 p.m., officials said.
He was taken by ambulance to Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital and later transferred to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon for injuries authorities said were serious but did not appear life-threatening.
Rancloes was charged with operating an ATV above the posted speed limit of 10 miles per hour for such vehicles.
