Laconia police investigate robbery, assault

LACONIA - Police are investigating a report of a robbery and assault on Sunday.

Laconia police Sgt. Dennis Ashley said at 5:20 p.m. Sunday police were called to the Spa convenience store on Church Street to investigate a report of a male outside bleeding.

Police say a 60-year-old male reported that while on the Church Street bridge he was assaulted by two white males looking for money. The victim was not able to give detailed descriptions of his assailants, other than that they were two white males in their 20's. The victim was treated by Laconia Fire Department on scene for minor injuries.

A similar incident was reported on June 5. While on the Church Street bridge at approximately 5:15 p.m. a male subject reported being robbed of an undisclosed amount of money by three males.

At this time these incidents remain under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact Laconia police at 524-5257.
