Littleton shelter cuts adoption fee for black cats
LITTLETON - Second Chance Animal Rescue's board of directors is recognizing Adopt-a-Shelter-Cat Month by reducing the adoption fee for its adult black cats.
A number of these cats are waiting for homes. The shelter says black cats are often difficult to find homes for because of a stigma against their fur color, but these cats are often just as friendly, if not more so, than other cats.
The adoption fee includes shots, spaying or neutering, microchipping and FLV/FIV testing. The shelter, 1517 Meadow St., is open to visitors from noon to 3 p.m. Monday through Saturday or by appointment. The shelter also can be reached at 259-3244 or www.secondchancear.org.
