Windham girls top Derryfield in Div. III lacrosse semifinal

Windham established an 8-4 halftime lead and never looked back en route to a 16-7 victory over Derryfield of Manchester in a Division III girls’ lacrosse semifinal on Monday at Southern New Hampshire University.

The win enabled the second-seeded Jaguars to advance to Thursday’s 7 p.m. title game at SNHU against Lebanon. The Raiders stunned top seed Kearsarge of North Sutton, 9-8, in triple-overtime in Monday night’s late game.

Courtney Sweeny led Windham (17-2) with five goals and Alexandra Connors had a hat trick along with Samantha Crichton. Melissa Cino and Alexandra Lewis each scored twice for Windham.

Polly Carter led Derryfield (14-3) with three goals followed by Brynn Polgrean with two. Atlee Coler and Elisabeth Caulo each had one goal for the Cougars.

Lebanon 9, Kearsarge 8, 3 OTs: Emily Perryman sent the game into overtime with a goal with seven seconds remaining in regulation and tallied the game-winner in the third overtime to lead fifth-ranked Lebanon to an upset win against previously undefeated Kearsarge of North Sutton.

Lebanon took a 7-4 lead in the second half on a goal from Amelia Gage.

Kearsarge roared back, scoring four straight goals, including two from Elizabeth Brooks, who provided the Cougars with their 8-7 lead with 4:35 left.

But Perryman found the net with seven seconds left to knot the game and scored the winner at the 2:12 mark of the third overtime.

Brooks finished with three goals and Caitlin Anderson added two for the Cougars (13-1).

Gage and Perryman each had three goals for Lebanon while Maureen Moran added two for the Raiders (11-4).
