This week's Rare Bird Alert

This is New Hampshire Audubon's Rare Bird Alert for Wednesday, May 29.

A yellow-throated warbler was seen in Hampton on May 29, but has not been relocated.

A grasshopper sparrow was seen at the Concord Airport on May 27.

Three purple martins were reported from Nashua on May 24.

A mourning warbler was seen in Durham on May 26.

At least six orchard orioles were seen at the NH Fish & Game Bellamy River Wildlife Management Area in Dover on May 27.

A ruddy turnstone, nine semipalmated plovers, and a least sandpiper were seen at Horseshoe Pond in Concord on May 24.

Four semipalmated plovers and a least sandpiper were seen in Walpole on May 26.

Five dunlin, 30 semipalmated sandpipers, four least sandpipers, and 19 semipalmated plovers were seen on the Connecticut River in Hanover on May 24.

Several yellow-billed cuckoos and black-billed cuckoos were reported during the past week.

Several yellow-bellied flycatchers and Philadelphia vireos were reported during the past week.

One hundred and one common nighthawks were seen migrating at Powder Mill Pond in Hancock, and about 20 were seen migrating in Boscawen, all on May 28. About 20 were reported from Lee on May 27.

An estimated 100 black scoters were seen migrating at Powder Mill Pond in Hancock on May 28, and nine white-winged scoters were seen at Upper Baker Lake in Orford on May 26.
