Assistant principal leaves Hampton for Bedford elementary school
BEDFORD — The assistant principal of a Hampton elementary school has been named the new assistant principal of Peter Woodbury Elementary School, Bedford school officials announced.
Daniel Mitchell, the current assistant at Adeline C. Marston Elementary School, will assume his new duties on July 1. His previous positions included elementary school teacher at Heron Pond Elementary School in Milford from 2006 to 2010, and elementary school teacher at St. John Regional School in Concord from 2002 to 2006.
“I am looking forward to Dan Mitchell joining our Peter Woodbury School family,” said incoming Principal Cheryl Daley. “Mr. Mitchell’s previous experience, professional traits, and personal character will enhance our school’s efforts in striving towards our school motto to ‘Believe, Achieve and Succeed.’ ”
The assistant principal job opened up when Daley was selected to fill the roll of current principal Ken Williams, who is retiring in June after 24 years with Bedford schools. Both positions were filled by the Bedford school board.
Mitchell is a 2002 graduate of Saint Joseph College in Standish, Maine. He earned a master’s degree in education administration from the University of New Hampshire in 2009.
