No one injured in Manchester police cruiser crash

MANCHESTER — An unmarked police cruiser was involved in an accident Saturday at the intersection of Lake Avenue and Union Streets, police said.

Lt. Todd Boucher said the cruiser, driven by Officer Eric Knight, was heading north on Union Street Saturday afternoon when it was involved in an accident with a car driven by Robert Ramalho, 21, of Manchester.

Boucher said Knight and his passenger, Officer Patrick Mullen, were responding to the area to assist another officer when the accident happened. Nobody was injured in the crash and the cruiser received minor damage in the accident, Boucher said.

Boucher said police do not yet have a cause for the accident.
